D.I.Y TeePee This DIY TeePee guide does NOT require sewing.. for all the "less skilled" crafters out there like me..
Ingredients: 5 wooden 1" poles (Home Depot) 83" tall Drill (Rental Area @ Home Depot) Rope/Twine (Home Depot) 2-3 Curtains Lace trim Heat n Bond Ultrahold No-Sew Iron-On Adhesive ($7 Walmart)
note: these ingredients & instructions are scaled according to a large teepee. If you want your teepee any smaller or larger.. you'll need to change the dimensions of your poles and curtains accordingly.
Directions: 1. Lay your 5 wooden poles on the floor with each drill hole next to each other. 2. place your rope through each hole note: keep your rope long, you'll need to wrap it around the poles after tying. 3. Tie a note keeping the poles together, then wrap the remaining rope around the poles (to keep it sturdy) and tie a note when the rope runs out. 4. Stand your poles up and place them in a "teepee" fashion. Your base is set.
5. Put your curtain's together. You'll need to use the heat n bond adhesive to iron each curtain together. IF you sew, props to you! feel free to sew/hem the curtains together! 6. After you have one long curtain, cut a long piece of rope, put the rope through each curtain (where the curtain rod should go) this is your teepee cover! 7. Crunch the curtains together to for a tight knot at the top of your teepee. 8. I kept the rope long so that you could tie it around the poles a few times (just to make sure its sturdy)
9. The majority of your teepee is finished. All you need is to make it yours! I added lace trip to the "door" for mine, a bow to tie the sides of the door, and a few christmas touches! Feel free to add lights, lace, fun things to make your teepee one of a kind!
Good Luck! If you end up making a teepee, please share! Id love to see them! xoxo Jenna
