Birth Photography

Baby Barney
3/3/13

As I sit here and try to find the words to explain the journey of baby barney's birth, Im a tad bit tongue tied. Im so beyond excited and blessed to share these photos with the world that I don't know where to start!
I was given the privilege of photographing this lil fella's delivery.
Little did the world know that he wanted to arrive 10 days early!

Here is the story of Caleb Justin Barney's Birth.

Stacey had contacted me at 10;00am informing me she had been 2cm dilated. For those of who you don't know what that means, its just the "beginning" of a process.. like when you go grocery shopping.. the first step is finding a cart. 2cm dilated would be like pulling into the parking lot of Albertsons.
So, I took my time. I had a meeting to go to and then planned on going to the Hospital once I was finished.
At 2pm I received a text message saying she was now 7cm dilated. Like she had just skipped the "shopping" and went straight to the check out line!
I arrived at the hospital at 3;00pm.
Baby Barney breathed his first breath at 3:21..
Caleb Justin Barney,
had officially arrived.

Mama and Papa Barney had decided to keep the sex of the baby unknown until birth. This was Mama Barney's expression when she realized her baby boy had finally arrived.

This photograph will forever move me to tears. This was the first time Caleb had ever been held by his daddy.
Precious.

Each and every time Caleb had cried, the nurses couldn't help but gasp! This little fella has some strong pipes!

For you formed my inward parts;
you knitted me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made
